Citizenship, family reunion discussed at Immigration Lawyers’ Network conference in Paris 3rd August 2011

Senior Solicitor Catherine Cosgrave was among immigration practitioners from throughout Europe to attend the European Immigration Lawyers’ Network conference and annual meeting in Paris recently.  The conference focused on issues relating to family reunification, including the European Court of Justice’s ruling on the Zambrano case, and EU family reunification law.

In addition, European Commission Union Citizenship Unit Administrator Michal Meduna addressed the conference on the application of the EU’s Citizenship directive.  Justice Nicholas Blake, President of the UK’s Immigration and Asylum Chamber Upper Tribunal, also spoke at the conference.  Justice Blake earlier this year spoke at a Dublin seminar co-hosted by the ICI and the Irish Refugee Council.  Justice Blake was one of a number of speakers on case law of the European Court of Human Rights.
